REDCOM (News - Alert) Laboratories, Inc., a manufacturer of innovative telecommunications systems, announced major enhancements in Version 5 of the REDCOM High Density Exchange (HDX) and SLICE family of products. The HDX and SLICE family of products are advanced Class 4/5 softswitch solutions powered by TRANSip, REDCOM’s IP technology suite, which integrates key IP Multimedia Subsystem (News - Alert) (IMS) elements in a single platform with superior call management for call setup, control, termination and directory services.
The new version offers enhanced OpEx-reducing and revenue-generating features and capabilities including SIP security, network-based call signaling (NCS), enhanced multifunctional trunk interface, enhance conferencing capabilities and VLAN tagging.
The HDX is an integrated softswitch and media gateway platform that delivers interoperable communications to service providers, ILECs/CLECs and private networks. It preserves all of the functionality and investment in legacy assets, while offering safe passage to modern VoIP technology.
REDCOM offers network transformation solutions delivering a remarkable level of interoperability and a mix of value-added services. The HDX and SLICE family of products provide a wide array of benefits including reduced footprint, low energy consumption, no scheduled maintenance, no mandatory support agreements, no mandatory software upgrades, no planned obsolescence or end of life strategies, fully integrated VoIP in a single platform, low-risk legacy switch replacement program and extensive list of features and interfaces supported for both legacy TDM and VoIP.
Offering products for commercial, enterprise, government and military, the SLICE family of products includes the SLICE, SLICE 2100 SLICE IP and SLICE IP micro. The SLICE is a small, self-contained switching system, designed to serve as an integrated communications platform, providing a flexible, portable and reliable Class 4/5 switch in a single, 1U platform. This compact switching system has the power, capability, and simplicity of REDCOM’s High Density Exchange (HDX) in a self-contained, rack-mountable package.
SLICE IP with TRANSip integrates key IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) elements, delivering call management functionality and directory services for IP subscribers. SLICE 2100 is a drop-in solution for carrier IP migration, End Office replacement, and distributed cloud voice services.
The array of benefits enables ILECs/CLECs to retain the investment in the existing network, and replace network elements when it makes technical and financial sense. With no planned obsolescence, and substantial future-proofing, the REDCOM HDX and SLICE family of products serve ILECs/CLECs long into the future.
