With the shifting paradigm in the communications landscape, the traditional on-premises phone system is making way for its more modern counterpart in the cloud, and Digitcom, a Canadian business phone systems and data networks distributor, is following suit with the release of its HostedPBX platform.
"As the business phone systems market has matured, client requests for an IP-centric voice network have increased exponentially," said Jeff Wiener, president at Digitcom, in a statement. "This increase in client interest has spurred our corporate migration towards this IP-centric model, leading to many new competitive challenges; none more so than hosted PBX (News - Alert)."
The network distributor’s HostedPBX platform is stated to be a unique hybrid premises/hosted PBX communication solution that makes use of the power of the cloud to deliver cutting edge solutions to small and medium business owners. By hosting its own PBX solution, Digitcom has sought to circumvent the problems typically associated with widely available open source PBX platforms.
“Digitcom has not only joined the ranks of hosted PBX, we have done one better, and I'm proud to introduce Digitcom's own HostedPBX platform and our own unique hybrid premises/hosted PBX solution," said Wiener.
The advantage of a HostedPBX environment is there’s no expensive hardware to buy, no software upgrades to maintain. Even the service and support is provided. Thus the SMB sector will have access to cost-effective industry leading technology.
And when business grows, there’s no need to worry about adding more hardware and software, for with the addition of a phone, the extension is automatically on the network.
Digitcom was recently recognized as an Avaya (News - Alert) "Partner in Customer Excellence," a newly created designation that identifies and rewards channel partners who achieve significantly higher scores in their customer satisfaction surveys.
